A CATASTROPHE
A CATASTROPHE
In the midst of my muddle, he comes
With beautiful promises
The one where he builds me a kingdom,
Kingdom of love and only love.
Hands me the key of palace so profound,
A celestial city full of surprises
And I claimed it a connection
A connection of trust and only trust.
Of course, I believed them all
Every word he said, every lyric we sung
That what I called an ecstaticity
To dance on a moonlit night
Or just a cup of coffee together
Which I refer now as a damned sprung.
Sheesh, what a fool I’ve become to believe,
Believe them all to be a perfect remedy
For every grief, for every aches
For the anguish with its own flakes
See what a fool I’ve become to believe,
Believe that together, we were a grand melody.
Oh dear, what happened to us?
What happened to our love?
The love that made us so full of life
The love of great, great delight
Now I’m left with just a mark
A mark of your last words that made a cut,
A cut, yes, deeper than the knife.
What about the already made plans?
Were they all supposed to be this abandoned?
The love that once shined brighter than the sun
Now brews like a storm on a calm sea
With them all fleeting,
I’m left stunned
Whispers of betrayal, started soft and benign
Sweet fragrance vanished in bitter of throes
You faded, faded every while until I had to leave
And now, I can no longer call you mine.
You turned the table when our love was on apogee
Robust emotions and sweet pledges, but a trap
And the love, that I once believed
To be a glory of mankind, is now just a catastrophe.
